Job Description
The Bay Laborer – Parts Receiving & Distribution supports shop operations by managing the flow of parts throughout the fabrication bay. This role is responsible for receiving, sorting, tracking, and distributing parts to ensure fitters and fabrication teams have the materials needed to efficiently assemble components while maintaining safety, accuracy, and organization.
Day and Swing Shifts available
Pay $20 - $24/hour
Position Responsibilities

Support overall shop flow by managing and distributing all parts within the fabrication bay

Record, update, and maintain parts tracking information using tablet-based software
-
Pull parts and organize them into bins according to bills of materials
-
Transport pulled part bins to the shop floor as directed by supervision
-
Ensure fitters and fabrication teams have the correct parts required to assemble components
-
Receive, identify, and sort all cut-to-size plate material
-
Coordinate machine shop processing for cut-to-size plate as required

Maintain organized work areas and follow all safety and quality procedures
Position Qualifications & Abilities Required

Firm understanding of:

Shop drawings
-
Cut lists
-
Industrial safety practices

Basic math and geometry skills
-
Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs safely

Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts (training provided; prior experience not required)

Basic computer skills, including use of tablets or shop-floor software

Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
