Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant with 1-2 years experience to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting the dental team in various clinical and administrative tasks. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and equipment.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols.
- Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately.
- Manage patient records, including medical documentation and electronic medical records (EMR).
- Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols.
- Schedule appointments and manage the front desk as needed, including handling dental receptionist duties.
Skills
- Proficient in using EMR systems such as Dentrix & Dexis
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience with four-handed dentistry practices.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and 3D scanners.
- Ability to perform basic vital sign assessments.
- BLS is required
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in a clinical setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
