CWI---Quality Control Inspectors
Job Description
A structural steel and metal fabrication company in Airway Heights is looking for swing shift Quality Control Inspectors who are responsible for assemblies throughout the fabrication process.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Confirm the correct drawing revisions are on the shop floor
-Verify assemblies are correct grade and code compliant
-Check visual quality of welds
-Confirm welding machines are within required parameters
-Coordinate inspection with outside testing agencies
-Record findings via piece mark QA trackers on MFC Tracker
-Job site trips and inspections of subcontracted work at other fab shops
Position Qualifications & Abilities Required to Perform Functions
-Current CWI Certificate
-Firm understanding of the following codes:
o AISC Code of Standard Practices
o ASTM A6
o AWS D1.1
-Firm understanding of project specifications, shop and contract drawings,
-Proficient knowledge of the following:
o WPS
o PQR
o WQR
-Ability to read tape measures and welding gages
-Good communication skills to convey non-conformance and method of action
-Minimum 3 years" experience fitting and welding
-Vision or corrected vision must be adequate for the work (optical exams required every 3 years)
-Welds must be inspected by CWI"s
Position is FT, Mon-Thursday swing shift. Salary is DOE $30-$35 p/hr.
