Purchasing Agent
Job Description
A business-to-business supply distribution company specializing in the construction industry is in need of a self-motivated and organized Purchasing Agent/Buyer. Construction background is preferred.
Full - Time
Monday - Friday
Pay - $45, 000 + Based on Experience
Duties Include:
* Efficiently purchase product to maintain proper stock levels
* Work with purchasing manager, sales, etc. To strategically manage vendors' terms,
pricing, and relationship
* Negotiate prices and make sure company buys product at most competitive level
possible
* Help source customer products and non-stock items
* Maintain accurate item data in computer system
* Understand industry theory for EOQ, line point, safety stock and other replenishment
parameters
* Work with warehouse, accounts payable, and warranty returns to resolve issues
Experience:
* 2+ years of experience in related purchasing, preferably distribution
* 2 years of sales experience desired
* Good negotiation, communication, and customer service skills
* Comfortable with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Outlook
* Knowledge of construction, job phases, sub-trades, plans and specification is helpful
